DO YOU REALLY KNOW GOD? Part 2 Isaiah 40

The question is "Do you really know God?" Many saved people for one reason or another have not taken the time to really get to know the True and Living GOD. After salvation, the new birth getting to know God is accomplished by spending time in His Word and allowing His Holy Spirit to reveal to each believer who the real and true God is. In this message I want to share with you as a believer who God is.

I. GOD IS ENDLESS IN HIS KNOWLEDGE: Can you imagine how many particles of dust make up this earth? I don't think there is anyway man can count or measuring the number of dust particles on this earth but listen to Isaiah 40:12 and what it says about God and the dust of the earth. It says, " And (God) calculated the dust of the earth in a measure." I'm sure that God did not use IBM or Toshiba to calculate the dust of the earth. Our Heavenly Father God Almighty the one who saved us by His Son Jesus Christ knows EVERY dust particle of this earth because of His endless Knowledge and wisdom.

II. GOD IS ABOVE ALL IN POWER: Verse 25 God ask this question. "To whom then will you liken Me, or to whom shall I be equal? says the Holy One." Then verse 26 God gives the answer to how great and how He is above all. "Lift up your eyes on high, and see WHO has created these things, Who brings out their host by number: He calls them all by name. God invites mankind to go outside and pick a clear night lift up your eyes to the sky and see all the STARS that God has created. Notice verse 26 "He calls them all by name." God has created so many stars that only He is able to know the number and He has given everyone of the stars a name. I know of no one other than God with this kind of power. What a wonderful God that we have and verse 28 says, "The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary."

Finally, I would encourage you as a believer to Surrender yourself to Him and Depend on Him.
Listen to this promise in verse 31. "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint." Do you want to be strong? Do you want to soar above your fears and problems? Do you want to run the christian race and not be weary and not give up? If the answer to these questions is YES, then surrender yourself to God and Depend on Him.

If you have never trusted Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour I invited you to trust by faith in the death of Jesus Christ on the cross as payment for your sin debt. The bible says, "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord SHALL be Saved."

DO YOU REALLY KNOW GOD? Part 1 Isaiah 40

I have heard remarks in reference to God, "the man upstairs," the Ole Man, "the man in charge" and I'm sure that you also have heard these and many more. But who is really GOD?

Isaiah 40 contains 31 verses that in no way describe God in any of these mentioned references.

I. GOD IS INTERESTED IN HIS PEOPLE. Isaiah 40:1-2. God says to Isaiah I am interested
in my people and I want you to speak to them , "comfort My people says your God." verse 2
"Speak COMFORT to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her sins are pardoned." for she has received from the Lord's hand...." How wonderful it is to know that Almighty God wants his children to feel comfortable and at peace with Him. Do you recall before you were saved you were without peace with God? Then after receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, the Warfare between you and God ended, your sins were pardoned and then the COMFORT of knowing you are now a Child of Almighty God. How can we be sure that God will do this? Listen to verse 8. "The grass withers, the flowers fades, But THE WORD OF GOD STANDS FOREVER."

II. GOD IS A GREAT SHEPHERD: Verse 11. " He will feed His flock like a shepherd: He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those who are with young." For me, I say WOW! I will never been hungry because He will "feed His flock like a shepherd." Listen to Psalm 23:1-3 "The Lord is m shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures: He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake." How sad that mankind seek happiness by following other mortals beings, when Almighty God is the Greatest Shepherd of all times. Jesus who is also God referred to Himself as the Shepherd. John 10:11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep." Verse 14 Jesus said, " I am the good shepherd: and I know My sheep, and am known by my own. Verse 27 "My sheep hear My voice and I know them, and they follow me." Then listen to this great promise verse 28 " And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. "

III. GOD HAS NO COMPETITORS, NO PEERS, AND NO EQUALS: There is one that wants the world to think he is greater than God, Satan but the truth is Satan is a fallen angel and God Himself created Satan. God ask the question verse 25 Isaiah 40. "To whom then will you liken Me, Or to whom shall I be equal? says the Holy one." Can we find anyone that can match up to Almighty God? Before we answer this question, which we already know the true answer to, let us just look at somethings God has done. Look back at verse 12 of Isaiah 40. " Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand." How much water is the the Oceans, the Lakes, the streams worldwide? Can we just stop for a moment and focus our minds on the vast Oceans, and how many gallons of water in them? Well, Almighty God has measured the waters in the HOLLOW of His hand." Can anyone else do this? The answer is No. "whom shall be equal says the Holy One."
Look at verse 12 again. "God has measured heaven with a span"... No one can find the end of the universe. The more man looks deeper into space the more they see the endless span of Heaven that God has created. Who but Almighty God could perform such a miracle?

If you have never invited His Son Jesus Christ into your life, Jesus is waiting to forgive you of your sins and be your Lord and Saviour. Romans 10:13 "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

PRAYER Part 2 Colossians 1:10

Verse 9 the apostle writes, "we do not cease to pray for you, and to ASK that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding:" and there is a good reason to prayer for each other and for ourselves notice verse 10.

1. That you may walk, or your lifestyle, be worthy of the Lord fully pleasing Him."

We as disciples of Christ are to live a lifestyle that is a reflection of Christ. The word disciple means, a follower of another, or imitator of another. In this case we are to imitate Jesus Christ with our lifestyle. What was His lifestyle like? Of course Jesus was blameless, but He was more. As we study the Gospels we find Him, loving, kind, forgiving, compassion, honest and many more things than I can type in this space. Have you prayed and ASK God to help you "walk, or live
worthy of the Lord fully pleasing Him?" What about praying for others? What about your children, grandchildren have you ask God to give them spiritual understanding so that they "may walk, or live worth of the Lord fully pleasing Him.?" We should encourage every believer to live a life to grow in the knowledge of God in their Christian Walk.

2. We should pray that we may be Fruitful in every good work. verse 10.

What is the fruit of another believer? It is another believer. Matthew 28:19 Jesus said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations..." Acts 1:8 Jesus said, " and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

3. Pray for increasing in the knowledge of God: v. 10

How much do we really know about God? Do we know, that, "God CANNOT LIE"?
I will just ask, "how much do you really know about God?" How much do you really want to know about Him? I know from personal experience that increasing knowledge of God comes from Studying His Word and having a daily personal relationship with Him.

I hope that you will pray for others, including your family and friends, that they will walk or live a life worth of the Lord that they will be fruitful and increase in the knowledge of God.

PRAYER Part 1 Colossians 1:9

Prayer is very important for every disciple of Christ. Prayer was so important to Jesus that He would early in the morning arise and go into the wilderness to talk with His heavenly father.

Colossians 1:9 teaches us what we should be praying for to improve our personal relationship with our Heavenly Father.

Prayer Part 1 Let's look at only verse 9.

1. We should ask to be filled with the knowledge of God's Will. Verse 9. God wants his children to know what His desire for our christian walk. Verse 9 says, " ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will...."

2. We should prayer for Wisdom and Spiritual Understanding. Verse 9 again says, " ask that you may be filled in all Wisdom and Spiritual Understanding." When we study God's Word we need to ask for Wisdom and ask God to help us Understanding His precious Word. God speaks to us with His Word. We learn His promises, we learn about His great Love, we learn our eternal security in Christ Jesus and we learn just how great Almighty God is.

3. We should not only pray for ourselves to be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, but pray for OTHERS. Everyday my wife and I pray for our children and grand children to God in prayer that they will know His Will and that God will give them wisdom and spiritual understanding to follow Him.

Are you praying to know God's will for your life? What about praying for other believers?

God's Miracle

Since my last posting of August 1, 2009 I have become God's Miracle. While visiting our daughter in Ohio on August 9, 2009 I suffered a Massive Heart Attack, all the results of years of not taking care of my body. I do not recall much of what happened but the following was relayed to me by family members and physicians. I was airlifted from Bucyrus General Hospital to Riverside Meth. Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Upon arrival I was rushed into the Heart Cath. Lab. and as one physician stated, "everything that could go wrong, went wrong." 2 hours of placing stents and twice coding they finally placed me in ICU. Next came congestive heart failure and coding for the third time.
After 12 day stay in the Riverside Hospital, by the grace of God and His Great Love, I came home
to begin my recovery period.

I give the praise, glory and honor to my living God, the creator of all things for sparing my life
so I can continue on this earth to share the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ who died for all, and
will save all that will call upon His Name.

Jesus Saves Mankind

1. Why does Jesus Need to save mankind?
Romans 3:23 says, "for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

2. Whole World Guilty Before God:
Romans 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: there is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way...
there is none that doeth good, no, not one."

Now that we all know that we are born into this world as sinners and need a saviour, what shall we do?

Romans 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
