PRAYER Part 2 Colossians 1:10

Verse 9 the apostle writes, "we do not cease to pray for you, and to ASK that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding:" and there is a good reason to prayer for each other and for ourselves notice verse 10.

1. That you may walk, or your lifestyle, be worthy of the Lord fully pleasing Him."

We as disciples of Christ are to live a lifestyle that is a reflection of Christ. The word disciple means, a follower of another, or imitator of another. In this case we are to imitate Jesus Christ with our lifestyle. What was His lifestyle like? Of course Jesus was blameless, but He was more. As we study the Gospels we find Him, loving, kind, forgiving, compassion, honest and many more things than I can type in this space. Have you prayed and ASK God to help you "walk, or live
worthy of the Lord fully pleasing Him?" What about praying for others? What about your children, grandchildren have you ask God to give them spiritual understanding so that they "may walk, or live worth of the Lord fully pleasing Him.?" We should encourage every believer to live a life to grow in the knowledge of God in their Christian Walk.

2. We should pray that we may be Fruitful in every good work. verse 10.

What is the fruit of another believer? It is another believer. Matthew 28:19 Jesus said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations..." Acts 1:8 Jesus said, " and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

3. Pray for increasing in the knowledge of God: v. 10

How much do we really know about God? Do we know, that, "God CANNOT LIE"?
I will just ask, "how much do you really know about God?" How much do you really want to know about Him? I know from personal experience that increasing knowledge of God comes from Studying His Word and having a daily personal relationship with Him.

I hope that you will pray for others, including your family and friends, that they will walk or live a life worth of the Lord that they will be fruitful and increase in the knowledge of God.

PRAYER Part 1 Colossians 1:9

Prayer is very important for every disciple of Christ. Prayer was so important to Jesus that He would early in the morning arise and go into the wilderness to talk with His heavenly father.

Colossians 1:9 teaches us what we should be praying for to improve our personal relationship with our Heavenly Father.

Prayer Part 1 Let's look at only verse 9.

1. We should ask to be filled with the knowledge of God's Will. Verse 9. God wants his children to know what His desire for our christian walk. Verse 9 says, " ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will...."

2. We should prayer for Wisdom and Spiritual Understanding. Verse 9 again says, " ask that you may be filled in all Wisdom and Spiritual Understanding." When we study God's Word we need to ask for Wisdom and ask God to help us Understanding His precious Word. God speaks to us with His Word. We learn His promises, we learn about His great Love, we learn our eternal security in Christ Jesus and we learn just how great Almighty God is.

3. We should not only pray for ourselves to be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, but pray for OTHERS. Everyday my wife and I pray for our children and grand children to God in prayer that they will know His Will and that God will give them wisdom and spiritual understanding to follow Him.

Are you praying to know God's will for your life? What about praying for other believers?

God's Miracle

Since my last posting of August 1, 2009 I have become God's Miracle. While visiting our daughter in Ohio on August 9, 2009 I suffered a Massive Heart Attack, all the results of years of not taking care of my body. I do not recall much of what happened but the following was relayed to me by family members and physicians. I was airlifted from Bucyrus General Hospital to Riverside Meth. Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Upon arrival I was rushed into the Heart Cath. Lab. and as one physician stated, "everything that could go wrong, went wrong." 2 hours of placing stents and twice coding they finally placed me in ICU. Next came congestive heart failure and coding for the third time.
After 12 day stay in the Riverside Hospital, by the grace of God and His Great Love, I came home
to begin my recovery period.

I give the praise, glory and honor to my living God, the creator of all things for sparing my life
so I can continue on this earth to share the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ who died for all, and
will save all that will call upon His Name.
